How much more velocity would a 22" rifle in .500mag have over a 8.375" revolver?

The load I'm looking at is the 350gr doubletap. They list 1975fps out of a revolver. DT's 500gr bullets are listed at 1500fps out of a revolver. The load I'm using for 700gr bullets are listed at around 1126fps.

Does velocity increases due to barrel length vary by bullet weight also?

I don't have a chronograph, so I'm curious what kind of velocity my .500 is getting with some of these loads.

I've been planning on getting some kind of pointless elephant gun, but I haven't had much luck finding one for a reasonable price in a caliber I want lately, so now I'm thinking my 500 and shotguns can provide all the big bore unpleasantness I need, and I can waste the money I was going to waste on an elephant gun on some other pointless gun instead, particularly one that's not quite so expensive.

I know that even with a rifle, that a .500 still won't match the velocity or power of something like a .458lott, but the longer I go without finding a decent deal, the more sufficient the .500 seems to be to me as far as throwing big bullets goes. It's as if common sense is setting in, and that's usually a bad thing, but it would be better on my wallet, and I could use that money to buy another revolver, or maybe a gaggle of tec-9s or other scary looking jammomatics instead.
