I have been considering getting another inexpensive 12 or 20 ga O/U that is not too nice to go hunting but not a klunker either. I have a EAA Baikal 12 O/U that has been a very dependable unit but after 100s and 100s of rounds its still stiffer than a frozen pool cue. Hard to break open and close.
Other than than that the barrels are well regulated it points ok and shoots everything I feed it including steel shot.

Hunting-wise this new gun will be for doves, occassionally quail and less frequently close-in waterfowl hence my interest in a 20 (but a 12 will do if $$ becomes and issue). I would perfer that it actually be built on a 20 frame rather than a 12 ga frame. Last fall I was with a good friend when he bought his son a 20 ga Beretta O/U (a beauty) and I have been hooked on the concept ever since...but not at 1300$.
Also looked at a nice SKB that same day. It was just not quite as nice or as smooth as the Beretta.

What do you know about Veronas. I have yet to see one in the flesh. Can't find much info on gunbroker etc either.
Ditto for the Lanbers. I can't even find info that the Lanber even comes in 20 ga. At 300$ the price sure is right. I assume the Verona will go for about 600$.

I understand the Lanbers have non- or less-than-interchangable parts. Veronas are supposedly better in that respect and are better supported service-wise.

Info from people that have actually owned or shot these guns will be much appreciated.
