Very dissatisfied with Hornady right now

You should change the title of this thread to....

"I called Hornady and All I got was this Lousy T-Shirt"

Did they really try and give you a sticker?

Yea, they said a tee shirt or a sticker. Why would I wear their tee shirt or put their sticker on something and advertise for a company after they just let me down.

It made me think they thought I was an idiot. And no I'm not buying another shell plate. I don't need two of them, I don't need two of them. Besides I'm afraid I'll get another one like I got the first time.

Note that you could be loading on a turret in the mean time. How many Federal Magnums can you really shoot?
.

I have to load them on a single stage, I don't have a turret press. I shoot a surprising number of 327's. About 250 get loaded to full magnum and the other 250 get a reduced load. It's one of my favorite revolvers. I'll shoot about 75-100 per range trip. I make my own bullets for it so it's cheap and fun to shoot.

Í guess I'll just have to wait them out. Nothing says I have to be happy about it. I have two progressive presses now, I'm sure going to remember this when it comes time to buy my third one.

Hold up a sec. Did they offer you a free t-shirt or a sticker, or did they offer you a free t-shirt and a sticker? Huge difference.

I think what would make me mad about this is they flat out lied about their problem in getting a new shell plate. If they had just explained about what the problem is and given an estimate of when it could be shipped the OP would have been happier. He could have then have looked for a replacement or waited, what ever he needed to do.

I hate when I'm lied to about anything let alone something simple like this. Then to be offered some free advertisement for their stuff would have really set me off.

I was pretty disappointed with Hornady's response when I sent them a detailed email regarding my less than one year old dies that were leaving deep scratches in the necks of my cases. Their email response was to call their tech support line. RCBS would have instructed me as to how to return them so they could be repaired or replaced. When I tried to call their tech support line, I was on hold for 10 minutes, and had to get back to work. NOT what I expected, like they couldn't have forwarded my email and contacted me directly? So I bought some Lyman dies on sale from Cabelas and will share my Hornady story with everyone who wants to hear it. I will still consider using their bullets if I get a good deal on them, but won't
consider their dies or other reloading equipment. RCBS and Dillon both are far superior, we will see how the Lyman dies hold up.

RCBS wouldnt do anything about the scales I'm having trouble with, they wanted ME to contact the manufacture. hmmm I guess I should have started a thread about it on here. :)

Those are petty complaints IMO. Call from home the next time and be ready for the industry to be stressed with support issues.

I guess we are done here. Posts are getting less and less helpful.

It's been a tough time for every one over the last several years. Demand has been over the top and the companies have struggled to keep up. We are very fortunate that, in general, reloading companies have some of the best customer service out there.
