For those who would like a Visual Basic program that will compute alloy proportions, please see this link (@END) for a zip file that contains SETUP.EXE program to install my ALLOY PROJECT program.

It works on everything from W2000 to W10 (I just tried it there with a "virgin" W10 machine, and it works great.)

I wrote this program when I was learning to program in Visual Basic, years and years ago.

Arthur Greene lately of Beverly Hills taught me how to do these computations, which are embedded in the executable of this program. Hats off to Mr. Greene, wherever he may now be.

YOU MAY DISTRIBUTE IT AS YOU LIKE TO ANYBODY YOU WOULD CARE TO.

AGAIN, GIVE IT AWAY, POST IT OTHER PLACES - attributed to ME, BUT YOU MAY NOT SELL IT!

WHILST I HAVE PERSONALLY BEEN USING THIS PROGRAM FOR YEARS UPON YEARS on any number of Windows operating systems, I REMAIN, NOT LIABLE FOR ERRORS ENCOUNTERED IN EITHER INSTALLING OR USING THIS PROGRAM.

• IT WON'T RUN ON AN APPLE MACHINE, NOR WILL IT EVER, SO PLEASE DON'T ASK? PLEASE? PURTY PLEASE?

If errors are found in this program, please ignore the email address that is in the HELP section (Yahoo decided to drop me after a few months of no activity?), and contact me at the following:

SEE LINK @ END of this POST! CLICK on THE LINK!

When you get to the Google Drive folder that the link takes you to, download the ZIP file by "RIGHT CLICKING" on the ZIP file in the cloud archive (SEE IMAGE BELOW); park it someplace on your computer to some place easy to remember, such as C:\tmp or c:\downloads, OR EVEN MORE LIKELY, THE DEFAULT LOCATION YOUR BROWSER DOWNLOADS TO!

I cannot and won't help you with this; if you have issues, talk to your grand kids for help (I'm serious... this is not rocket science?)

Find the downloaded ZIP file on your computer, where YOU CHOSE to put it. Double crick on the ZIP file named "Alloy Installer Package.zip" Let it put the expanded files and directories wherever it wants to (it will likely be right there where the ZIP file is), but it might be a good idea to pay attention to where all this is happening, because you are going to need to come back to it!

• (most PCs will UNZIP this type of file w/o additional software or add ins.)

• (You might have to right crick on the ZIP file and tell it what to do...)

When the package has unzipped, look in the new folder "Alloy Installer Package", dive down into it, and dbl. crick on "SETUP.EXE" that you find there. Ignore the others that are buried elsewhere.

Let it do what it wants. I promise it won't hurt your machine. If it does, you get your money back.

Guys, I have lots more things to do in this world than screw with other people's computers. I am a retired Systems Engineer from Hewlett-Packard, and the spinoff of the original HP assets, Agilent Technologies. I still teach software programming from time to time.

If it is of any difference to 'yall, I wrote the software that has tested the antenna arrays for EVERY GPS SATELLITE that has been launched in the last 15 or 20 years, and the software that tests the amplifiers in EVERY PATRIOT MISSLE SYSTEM's RADAR since around 2007.

I CERTIFY THAT THIS IS A MOST HARMLESS, AND AT THE SAME TIME, MOST USEFUL PROGRAM FOR ALLOYING LEAD!!!!

Be a happy caster? Have fun with and enjoy this most useful program of my own creation:

You NEED TO RIGHT CLICK ON THE ZIP FILE and select "DOWNLOAD."

See images below:

Tried in Chrome, Firefox & IE. No luck.

No menu of any sort shows when I try to right click.

Never mind, I found a dl arrow on the far right upper corner of my browser.

Is this a Visual Studio project? Winform? WPF? Console? .Net?

If you just post the VB code we can see it and duplicate it here (did I mention I was a software developer?)

And if it isn't a VS project just post the code and I'll make it one and post the 'how to' make the VS project at home.

Yes folks there is a version of Visual Studio that is free and one can make the whole shebang and set up an Icon to run the published project on you PC.

Just FYI!

You all are welcome to click any link you want and install any software you want, but as a software engineer I would not install random executable files from the internet from people I don't know.

No offense to op

You know, you can always scan it for trouble with any number of applications after download, before installation.

I am a sofware professional, AND I DON'T SCREW AROUND WITH OTHER PEOPLES MACHNES.

Do you really think I want to be a parriah on this site? Not.

Why don't you download the ZIP and inspect it for issues, in a SANDBOX, perhaps.

I understand the warning to others, but have you considered checking it yourself, rather than to cast aspersions, even if that was not your intent?

It is a Visual Basic project from a long, long time ago. I believe I did note this.

Good. Then just post the source code. I can even convert it to c# or Python for you guys with Python interpreters (and a Python tkinter GUI thrown in!)

Without the source code a scan won't tell you anything about what the application is doing. Again no offense to you but you have 12 posts on this site.

Source code? I think not.

~~~~~~~~~
Since You Doubting Thomases think I am Darth Vader or something like that, I CHALLENGE YOU:
Download this stuff to a SANDBOX. I trust you understand what that is. If not, your complaints are even less important than I originally thought.
(To the uninitiated, a "sandbox" is a secure version of your operating system, running ON TOP of your operating system, that is completely isolated from the rest of your computer. I.E. a safe place to install and run software one is not familiar with or does not trust.)
~~~~~~~~~
So, Mr. Doubting Thomas. Download my zip file into your sandbox, assuming you can get a grip on that.

Install my software. Inspect it. Look up its behind. Don't you guys know how to do this????

Put your money where it counts. Inspect it in a safe environment.

Rather than casting aspersions, why don't you just check it out? Geez.

This ain't rocket science.

~~~~~~~~~
And, further, I don't give a gnat's do-do how many posts I have made here. That is beside the point.
Why don't you google "pcmacd" ?? Did you consider trying that? I'm all over the net.
Specifically, do a google search for "implementing a supportable vee architecture". That's me - see the last page. Do you for even a moment think I would risk my reputation by sliming peoples' machines?
I am a software consultant, dude
.
I've had an internet presence probably before 'yall even heard the words. Since the late 1980s. On UNIX machines, when nothing else could do it.
You'll find some papers I've published. Do you think for even one moment that I would dare to tarnish my reputation by fooling around with people? Sheesh. I just don't understand why you don't investigate this stuff, rather than worry and speculate????
~~~~~~~~~
SO what if I published "the source code"???

The zip file could be something completely different. Or, did you not consider that????

Hello???

Use the software.

Or don't.

I could NOT POSSIBLY CARE LESS.

~~~~~~~~~~~
The loss is only yours.
Easy peasy. Downloaded and installed, just because someone said it was tainted doesn't mean it is. Google scans everything in their drive anyhow. Plus scanned it locally. Program works. Don't have a need for it, but it computes things.
