I am not sure if this has been posted before but I came across this website yesterday while trying to research TN candidates' positions on different issues. It seems that candidates on a ballot are asked to take a quick multiple-choice survey that asks them to state their positions on the variety of issues. Sucks that both Ford Jr and Corker, as well as Bredesen, have repeatedly refused to take this survey. So, I have been reading up on Independents instead. The answers range widely and give me an opportunity to have a quick look into some candidates. I thought I would share the link, so you guys and gals can read up on your local candidates.

Please vote this November, whatever your positions are. I, myself, am so sick of both parties and mud slinging, that I am not sure who I am voting for.

Thanks,
Julie

Sheslinger,

Thanks for the link.

Here is what Hillary Clinton’s opponent in the NYS Senate race has to say about the Second Amendment.

While I may not agree with him on every point, (something true of every politician I have seen) his position on the Second Amendment tends to guarantee my support.

Sincerely,

Prof. A. Wickwire

Since the Second Amendment states: "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed," I do not believe that government bureaucrats should decide what firearms honest Americans can possess for lawful purposes.

I strongly support the right to bear arms as guaranteed by our Founding Fathers in our Constitution.

The Founding Fathers risked their lives to create this free nation, and they guaranteed freedom as the birthright of American citizens through the Bill of Rights. They trusted an armed citizenry as the best safeguard against the possibility of a tyrannical government.

Our founders distrusted a government that wouldn't trust its people. I believe like anyone else who supports the Bill of Rights that the Second Amendment remains the first right among equals, because it is the one we turn to when all else fails.

In the U.S. Senate, I will oppose any efforts to revive the Clinton gun ban and oppose any other proposal to curtail the right to bear arms. I will co-sponsor legislation to shield gun manufacturers from frivolous lawsuits, repeal the unconstitutional gun ban in our Nation's Capital and other legislation that protects the right of innocent Americans to protect themselves and their families.

Law abiding citizens have every right under the constitution to own a gun. I will consistently vote to protect that right as our Founders intended.
