Walker/Dragoon Holster

The Dixie Gun Works have a holster made for the Colt Walker. They also say it will fit the Dragoons. So are a Walker and a Dragoon the same size except for the barrel length? It would be nice to have one holster that will carry either gun. Anyone have one of these holsters?

Have "slim jim" holster for the walker from Cimarron (Texas Jacks). The dragoon will fit just fine. The barrel, cylinder, and the frame are shorter on the dragoon. Cimarron also has a holster specific for the dragoon. Have on order and do not believe the walker will fit it even if it has an open bottom.

The Slim Jim holsters from Cimarron are great looking. But unfortunately neither Texas Jack or Cimerron will ship to Canada.

Your original question was, "Will it fit?"

Like HT said, the Dragoon barrel, frame and cylinder are all smaller than the Walker. However, any holster capable of carrying a Walker should also carry a Dragoon just fine. The other way is not so obvious, so buy a Walker holster if you want to fit both.

My Dragoons will all fit my walker holster perfectly, but the Walker won't fit the Dragoon holster due to the longer barrel. Contrary to popular belief, the frame on the Dragoon is identical to the Walker with the exception of the Walker's grip cut-out. Barrels and cylinders are shorter on the Dragoons.

Thanks for the info. The Slim Jim from Cimarron is probably the one I'll get. Anyone know an Cimarron outlet that will ship to Canada?
