Hi, I still haven't fired this gun, tomorrows the big day weather permitting but it seems to load strangely.
Pull the bolt back, drop in first round, load 2 more from the bottom.
So far so good.
When I cycle the action the one in the chamber ejects but the ones from the magazine don't feed.
At the base of the carrier there is a button, if I press this the next round will fall down and cycle but the button engages again stopping the next round.
I'm sure nothing is broken and I'm just missing something.
Will it function all by itself under fire?

All will be fine when you are shooting. The gun's deisgn doesn't allow for the shell to exit the magazine unless the one in the chamer has been fired, unless you press the button first.

Enjoy your first (of many) outings with it. :)

Broadbill- Short answer is yes it will feed. The 390 needs the trigger to be pulled or the relase pressed (which you did) to feed a shell from the mag tube. Enjoy the gun, I bought mine in 1999 and have about 50k rds thru it to date. Mine runs about 2000-2500 rds between cleanings before it starts to malfunction, almost as good as an OU! Nick.

Thanks alot for the speedy replies.
I figured it was me not the gun.
There was only so much I could do in the living room with live ammo.
