I've been looking for these for a long time, and I finally found a LNIB P88 with 3 hi cap mags.

Fit and finish was superb. The barrel to slide fit was solid P210 tight. Even the slide to frame fit was as tight as custom 1911s.

The slide is similar to BHP in profile, surprisingly slim; but the double stack grip was very thick, almost double the width of a slide.

Double action trigger was long and heavy, similar to Walther P5; but the single action trigger, though it stacks toward the end, was very consistant and smooth.

P88 is extremely user friendly with easy diassembly feature similar to Sig P22X series. Decocker/Slide release and a mag releases are both ambidexterious, and very easy to reach.

P88 has relatively low bore axis similar to BHP, and recoil and muzzle flip was very mild.

At 25 yards from the bench rest, I was able to produce amazing 4 shots in a single 3/4" jagged hole with one flier 1-1/2 away from the group.

So what is my impression of Walther P88? Think of a handgun that combines practicality of Sig P226, an elegance and accuracy of Sig P210, and an ambidexterious user friendly feature that is not found on any other pistol. Do I think P88 is better than Sig P226? Yes. Are they as smooth and accurate as P210? No, but P88 comes close and holds 15 rounds, does not hammer bite, and has better passive safety features.

If you can find one and if you got a grand to spare, I strongly recommend Walther P88.

Congrats, Doctor, the P88 is an excellent pistol. It is the most accurate pistol I own. If you ever have another $750 or so to spare check out the P88C, another excellent pistol.

Congrats on your new P88, Doc. I love mine, it is my most accurate pistol. If you ever have another $750-$900 to spare check out the P88 Compact. The Compact is another nice pistol, but without an ambi mag release and the safety/decocker is on the slide. The grip is smaller though and fits my hand better. Now I just need a thousand to spare on a P5C, lol.:D
