It seems the wife has commandeered my backup/ankle carry, Taurus TCP, as her own. So it looks like I am finding a new one. The PPS caught my eye awhile ago and has again. According to BBTI, my typical .40 and 9mm preferred loadings are about the same velocity, around 900 FPS. 147gr in 9mm and 165 in .40. The question between the two is recoil. Anyone have a PPS in .40, if so how is that?

the PPS has caught my eye a few times over the past year or two, but i haven't wound up with one yet. one of the very few .40 pistolas i've shot happened to be a PPS. i shot a mag or two, then set it down. haven't found an opportunity to fire a 9mm PPS yet.

The only thing I did not like about my PPS was the sharp trigger safety. It actually sliced open my finger after an hour/250 rounds of firing. Accurate, sleek, easy-to-carry, but a range gun it is not. Nor is it meant to be.

I beg to differ on the "range gun" comment...one of the things I like best about the PPS is that I can shoot it all day at the range with no fatigue....shoots very soft similar to my larger 9mms. I have never had any issue with the trigger safety....never even notice it. Just my experience tho....:)

I have a 9mm PPS. The trigger is sharp but it groups well if you do your part on the trigger press and lining up the sights. Biggest plus for the PPS is how flat it is. Biggest minus is the magazine bases have a extension on them.

I looked around for trigger upgrades to this last night. Turns out there are no drop ins available. Some have said to just keep shooting the PPS until it smooths out. Might be a turn off for me.

I like the fact that the mag release is in the right spot.

Same here. I have owned and carried a P99 for so long, button released feel odd to me. I eject mags out of the P99 using my middle finger without changing grip. I really wish Walther never made the PPQ M2 with the button release. Finding an M1 is harder now that it is on the back burner in American markets.

The trigger in my '09 pps feels nothing like it did when it was new. It is smooth, but still a little spongy. Still better than it was new out if the box and I havent fired more than 300 rounds through it.
