In the reloading room today and just about out of laser cast bullets. Never had any problems with those but I'm thinking about trying out a coated rnfp. Anyone using them and where are the best deals?
Any coated 158 gr SWC from a reputable company.
Big +1 on both of these - have shot many thousands of each. FWIW - I think that the Acme coating is a little more consistent but it didn't affect accuracy.I like the coated bullets from Bayou Bullets and from Acme. Did not know the best deals. I look hard at the shipping prices and that sorta dictates how many and when I order.
12 hardness works well with more powerful loads as well. It is the extreme hardness of Oregon Trail Lasercast that caused a leading problem for me.I use the MB HyTec coated bullets in my Python. I use the 158gr LSWC with the 12 BH ( for 38 Spl) since I'm shooting light BE loads with WST. I've got where I prefer the HyTec coating since it's a lot cleaner to deal with. Don't have to deal with the lube building up in the seating die.
I'll check them out...Thanks!A poster on another forum suggested brazos precision. Prices are good with good reviews.
