So I'm curious, do you think that with the threat of world War that the US might reopen the last lead smelting plant in the country that closed during the Obama administration, so we can be self sufficient? Or am I just farting in a hurricane seeing as to how our government won't even open oil production?

(Changed) Methinks there is one primary plant that produces lead that uses new technology in Missouri.

"Lead production dropped in the US in 2021, totaling 300,000 MT — down from 306,000 MT in 2020. According to the US Geological Survey, secondary lead production fell by about 4 percent, “owing to a reduction in production of several secondary lead smelters and a closure of one secondary lead smelter in South Carolina in 2021.”

The country has five lead mines in Missouri, and lead is produced as a by-product at two zinc mines in Alaska and two silver mines in Idaho. These include the Renco Group’s (HKEX:2323) Sweetwater mine in Missouri and Teck Resources’ (NYSE:TECK,TSX:TECK.B,TSX:TECK.A) Red Dog mine in Alaska."
