...and lo and behold, I didn't shoot anyone! What you may ask!? You mean a shootout over an accident didn't occur on the streets!? I know, shocking...

But yeah, it seems that nobody was hurt, which is good, and it looks like that the other driver was at fault (rear ended).

The police were professional when I notified them that I was carrying and had a CHL, simply telling me not to play with it while we were interacting and didn't harass or anything.

Just something out of the ordinary (not the police encounter, but the accident itself) I thought I'd share.

Sure scared the hell out of me, looked around nervously for blood right after the impact XD

First time I've been in one.

Last October I was carrying and had a bag of guns in the truck on the way to my club range when I was hit by a county deputy sheriff that ran a yield sign. We were both going 45mph
He hit my right front wheel at an almost right angle. Totaled his cruiser and they put a new frame on my 2 yo Expedition.
I got out an approached the officer and asked what happened. He said the prisoner/detainee had distracted him. He was cuffed in the back but not belted and hit the cage front pretty hard. Man, he was screaming bloody murder at the cop.
I told the cop I was carrying. He said, "OK".
Since a cop was involved about 7 other county cops showed up plus the highway patrol. I told 'em all I was carrying, most just nodded.
The parameds asked me to put it in the console while they checked me. I was just shaken, no injuries.
He was ticketed for failure to yield. The state subpoenaed me and I had to go to court in February.
The cop didn't show.
The next day the county paid my insurance company for my repairs.
