Hey guys, I attempted to clean the whole bolt on my AKM finally and when I reassembled it, the firing pin retaining pin got stuck. I got it partially back in but sadly the firing pin isn't in the bolt. Now I can't remove the pin since I don't have a punch for it and my best efforts with pliers didn't work. I tried soaking it in CLP overnight to no avail. Does anyone have any ideas what I could do to fix this? Thanks.

There should be a punch in the cleaning kit capsule, if you have one.

The only way to remove it is to punch it out from the bottom of the bolt. Once you have it out make sure to remove any burrs you may have.

I can't find that kit unfortunately. I just don't know why it's so jammed in there. How can I remove the burrs?

I'd probably use a whet stone to remove any burrs. You don't want to remove a lot of metal.

Call around any surplus stores or pawn shops in addition to gun stores to see if they have any AK cleaning kits. There are a few things it's easier to do with the kit than without.
