Sorry to stir the pot on the already boiling "desert eagle tacticool" subject, but I have a serious question.

Has the Desert Eagle been used in any official capacity including, but not limited to, military, bodyguard/executive protection, security forces, or police? If so, can you link me to any information or relate any first hand experiences regarding it's usage?

I've heard rumors about the Israeli military using it, but I can't prove it with information I can readily find, and I'm beginning to wonder if the source of this rumor is making an assumption based on the meaning of the second letter in IMI (Israeli Military Industries).

Sounds the most plausible. Companies have all kinds of crazy and/or misleading names. UPS. United Parcel Service. United with what?
