Hello to everyone - I've been lurking for awhile and like this site so much I decided to register.

I finally broke down and bought the case feeder for my LNL AP press (which works pretty well I might add). I hope my case feeder works as well as my press does.

If you have had good experiences (or bad experiences that you were able to correct) with your case feeder I would like to hear about it if you are willing to share.

Thanks all ;)

You will find that making fine adjustments one at a time will make it work great.

The only thing that got me at first was that I dumped about 800-1000rnds of 45ACP in it and it wound not turn. There are 2 hex bolts on the feeder plate you might have to tighten them down a little, but be aware that htese are like a clutch system and you don't want to tighten them to tight. If a case gets stuck and they are so tight that it can slip you take a chance of burning up the motor.

Welcome!

The biggest thing I ran into was that the casefeeder made it so much faster that I had to remember to keep an eye on the primer level and powder levels. The low primer buzzer helps there though . . anytime I hear it go off I check the powder level and throw a few handfuls of brass in the hopper for the feeder. I don't keep tons of brass in the feeder, probably 200 rounds at most . .it's pretty obvious when it's running low as you don't hear the "clink clink" of new rounds dropping in . .just a "whiiiirr" as it tries to find new empties.

I think the biggest problem with these progressives with all the bells/whistles is that it's pretty easy to knock out 400-500 rounds of a "bad" recipe. I needed to play with 100 rounds of a new bullet I'm casting yesterday and that took all of 15 minutes once I had the powder drop dialed in . .it was tempting to just knock out a bunch more, but after shooting these over the chrono I'm glad I didnt! :)

Have a good one,
Dave

I am currently writing a review for the Hornady case feeder for the m1911.org ezine.
So far I have seen a conservative 30% increase in production and I so far I really like the feeder. I will post a link when it is published if you are interested.

Hunter - I would be very interested in seeing your review. I ran across your name earlier but couldn't find your post on m1911.org. Keep us posted.
