Howdy All,

Last friday was a beautiful day so I went out to Friendship.

Check my attachment to see my shootin' irons.

Both Piettas, Nickle plated brass trigger guards, stainless cylinders w/TRM nipples. Remmie wears Gripmaker faux stag, Colt sports Buffalo Bros "Mexican eagle" faux ivory.

Using #11 Remington caps, "wonder wads", .454 balls and 30gr. fff. Went through a whole pound of powder that afternoon.:neener:

Life is good !:)

Friendship Visit

Greetings,

I only joined NMLRA this past September so have visited Friendship three times so far. I find it very relaxing and enjoyable compaired to shooting at an indoor range full of CCW novices blasting away with modern autoloaders. I really get tired of dodgeing flying brass from the other shooters. I find I shoot a lot better outdoors. Probably because the light is better and I can SEE !

The place is sort of rustic and primitive but that's part of the charm. I've gone on both weekdays and weekends and it's never busy. So far I'm always the lone revolver shooter. Only other pistol shooter I encountered was using a homebuilt muzzleloader flintlock on a 1911 frame !:what:

All the folks I've meet are really friendly so as far as i'm concerned the place lives up to it's name. I buy my powder out there since none of the places here in Cincinnati stock real BP. Down to my last pound so I guess I'll be making another trip out there next week.

Happy Trails,

Cincinnati Slim

I live about 40 miles East of Friendship in Jennings Co. Have been going to the spring and fall shoots for years but just recently have had a desire to get into the shooting aspect of it. I mainly have just went over there for the flea markets and such. I know during the shoots they have a lot of goodies such as leather, sinew, muzzloader parts out the wazzo. I dont know enough about the range to say whether you can compete with cap and ball pistols or not but thats what I would be interested in. Smokepoles never did really interest me and still dont but I just recently got into cap and ball pistols. Does any one know if you can use these during the spring and fall shoots? Now if they would allow pre 1899 leveraction designs using black I would be all over it.
