I have had my PSA 16" Dissapator with a HF barrel for sometime now, but I haven't really had time to put it through some distance shooting until today.

We were shooting 300/540/600 yards.

This rifle performed outstanding. I was using 62 grain M855 and 55 grain SP bullets.

I didn't have any trouble busting the gongs and silhouette targets.

At 540 yards my DPMS rear sight elevation turret was set on 5 +2 clicks with 55 grain ammo, and with 62 grain M855 it was set to 4 + 4 clicks. I was impressed with the improved BZO setting with this 16" barrel using rifle length hand guards.

At 300 yards I was right on the 3/6 marking. And I could not miss the target it seemed. Using 55 grain SP from Black Hills. <---- AWESOME AMMO!! I have used this ammo since I started shooting .223, and it never lets me down.

600 yards was a little of a stretch using 55 grain ammo, always has been, but this is my first 16" rifle. I am use to 20" rifles.
The 62 grain M855 shot much better at 600 yards. Later while we were packing I found that I had a magazine full of my 69 grain SMK hand loads that I use for HP matches out of my, now long gone, 20" AR-15.

The conclusion for me is that I fell like i have one heck of a rifle. It is light, short, and has a great sight radius for those longer shots. Just what I wanted. Two thumbs up for the 16" PSA Dissy I bought 7 months ago. Now to load up these 75 grain pills over some medium powder. :)

I also shot my buddies Rem 700 SPS 20" .308 with a fixed 10x scope with cool turrets for dialing in. What an awesome, super-awesome rifle. Felt like an extension of my body. I have got to get one of these. That thing is way to accurate for its own good.

One thing I noticed today after having to take a break from shooting. It is super fun to shoot reactive targets. Steel, balloons, or anything that shows a hit is a hit. X's are cool, but sometimes a life size silhouette at 600 yards and an 66% size silhouette at 540 yards puts life like situations into prospective. There wasn't a shot that hit steel today that wouldn't have been effective in the field.

Great shooting guys.

WTH, no pics of said rifle?

J/K, I'm glad to hear that. I'm getting ready to order some PSA gear myself.

Okay. Okay.

Here are the pics. I don't have pics of the Rem 700 SPS.

Thank you. To hear the tactical tech guys with their AR-15s today you'd think I'd had every piece of hardware on it that could go on an AR15.

They were like. WOW, man. Nice rifle. It is so light and cool looking. I got to get me one of these.. All the while they are holding a Daniel Defense with a $600 optical.

Maybe it was to make me feel good before we started shooting. :) Once the 600 yard steel started ringing. The passive aggressive comments stopped. lol

It is just what I wanted, a short barrel, A2 stock and sights, rifle length hand gaurds, HF barrel, A2 flash hider. Turned out good.

Nice shooting from a nice rifle. I like the style. I have a 16" here that I'm looking to finish up with a rifle length hand guard and LMT A2 sights.

Finished this one a few months ago and it out shoots my abilities. I'm shooting the iron sight guns a lot more this year.
