I'm clearly not an expert on 1894 Winchesters ... do these screws seem out of place? Does anybody know if they're the result of amateur gunsmithing -- and if so, something that could be easily corrected? Thanks.
Nope, they are all factory. At one time the 94 was drilled and tapped for receiver sights. That's those two small screws at the top rear of the receiver. The rest are there to hold things in place, such as the hammer, lever, ejector, etc.
