What are your favorite deer bullets?

I've had excellent luck with Rem Corelocked pills...last batch I bought from midway was VERY inconsistent...they aren't match bullets but D@MN! 10% defect rate and hard to pick 10 let alone 20 within 1/2 grain of each other. Last remington brass I got from them looked like factory seconds as well...but other than that I've never had a problem with them...so maybe just don't buy there. (repackaged bulk and in my opinion seconds) The best cheap deer bullets made...and better than many expensive ones.

Sierra gamekings the best bullet in a browning BAR loaded in federal premiums or handloads. I mostly have used it in .270 130gr. deer hammer! If I had to pick one that might just be it!

7mm been playing with hornady SST's in all weights...like the 154 and 162 in 7 mag loved the 139's feel but my rifle is throated all wrong for it...would love to try it in a 7-08 though. Tiny groups and very consistent but have never killed anything with em yet. I'm loaded with 162gr interlock SP BT's right now and after I see what those do I will swap to the SST's and compare when I get to filling the freezer with does late in season. I had good performance from the 150gr corelocked ammo last year if nowhere near as acurate...one jacket-core separations up close but it fully expanded and did the job first...core exited jacket was pried out of spine. looked like the magazine add but with no core in it. If any of the hornady will do as well I'll be happy...if I see any fragmenting and separtion issues up close I'll try the bonded next. I have seen the 165 SST in .300 win mag do some awful damage to deer...it wasn't pretty...they still ran to. But every caliber can be it's own beast. I also may just try gamekings if this happen...just really good bullets...never had one go to pieces or fail to exit at any range in .270 no matter what they hit and always drops em good.

I shoot lead bullets, not deer bullets. I got tired of cleaning the fur out of my chamber after a trip to the range.

I have two favorite Deer loads. Speer 170 grain flat point in 30-30.

300 Grain hollow point Hornady in my 45-70.

I have been playing with hard cast for both.

30-06 165gr Gamekings over 47gr Varget/CCI 34 primers/IMI cases.

Regards,
Bob
