Title is the question...You have 50.00 or so bucks to get a red dot for a Buckmark Hunter 22lr...whats out there that will last until I can replace it?
It's kind of funny, but these guys I know with expensive Uzi's all have cheapo red dots on them. I was embarrased since mine cost like $30 but theirs were all cheaper! A gun show would have a bunch or maybe Wal-Mart or gun stores.
Sportsman's Guide has a surprisingly nice red dot reflex sight for $50.00. I bought a cheapie on eBay for $14.00 delivered, just to see if I liked it, and am going to order the SG sight. My shooting buddy got one and I was impressed...
I have clamped on several of the BSA red-dots and am so far happy with them. I have them on .22, pellet rifles and the 8X57. I have one waiting tfor the rail to be installed for my .72cal muzzle loader.
I have one of the sportsmansguide ones mentioned above, they're rebranded BSA. It works well on my .40 carbine. The lens retaining ring started to come loose, I tamped it back down and put a drop of super glue on the edge, it's been fine since. I'm happy with it and I'm sure it would hold up fine on a .22.
