What did you ask Santa for?

I didn't ask for anything either as we had a tough year with a lot of unplanned expenses. So the wife and I are going without to make sure that Santa can take care of our son this year.

Merry Christmas to everyone!

I feel for you. The last few years were very hard for us. This year things have been getting better and 2018 looks like it’s going to continue on the recovery path. So I hope that you and yours have a much better 2018 as I know many are in the same boat.

And thank you for showing that there are folks out there who have their priorities straight. Santa can bring some joy and happiness to your son, but it’s you and your wife who are the ones who really care for your son! Your post shows he’s a lucky boy.

A MRC X2 in .308, Leupold 3.5x10 VXi and Leupold 2 piece bases with medium rings. Santa gave me the blessing to make the purchase - I will wait until after the holidays and see if the prices drop to pre-holiday levels. HO! HO! HO!

That should be a very nice hunting rifle :D

We don't do Christmas, Bah Humbug! Didn't even put up a tree. The grandkids are gone to visit their other grandmother. The youngest daughter lives 1000 miles away, so it is just me and the Misses.. We buy what we want when we want if we can afford it. Usually our Christmas is celebrated a month early on a cruise ship. We have taken 17 cruises and have the 18th booked. I will admit that the cruises are booked so there is no conflict with deer season.;)

I thought about asking for anything chambered in 270 WSM, but, I felt blessed to win a Leupold DeltaPoint Pro on eBay, destined to sit on my Sig 220 SAO, I figure the rifle can wait till next year :)

Yes. Most fun I've had in a while with a rifle. Great purchase
I would imagine you could get surplus ammo for it. I've been looking for a larger non recoiling caliber for coyotes. My buddy uses an SKS and sometimes a Mosin nagant.

Yeah it shoots the cheap wolf ammo great, floats around 1"-1 1/4" 3 shot groups with it and under 1" groups with premium ammo.

It's fun to be able to sit and poke .30 caliber holes for nearly nothing and do it accurately. Plus the big boom from the 16" barrel makes ya feel like you're doing something.

I asked my wife for a RCBS Chargemaster, and she came through :D. Now to run power to the reloading bench for it...

The wife got me a Chargemaster Lite for my birthday this past summer, I love it, very convenient. The only accuracy issues I've had were caused by, I believe static build up, caused by loading in the dry cold environment in my trusty crocs. Discharged on the sink and weights stopped jumping around.

My wife gave me a Benchmade 485-171 VALET

I already took off the Titanium thumb nuts and replaced it with one I made from free machining steel. I did it is 2-56 thread, like Benchmade did, but the hole in the blade is 0.125" and could have taken a 4-40 screw. But then I would have to blind tap the little gum drop shaped part I made.
