What do you all think of the Guardian Angels?

I like the idea of the Guardian Angels. It seems nice that they are willing to go the extra mile. However once the problem is gone what are they going to do next? Their other organization, Cyber Angels, fights online predators which is a noble cause.

I think that they are a group that is no longer needed. However they should be allowed to stay if they wish. I am just leery of a group patrolling the streets and making citizens arrests. It is a nice idea but I am not seeing the need for them since in general the police seem quite capable.

However if crime gets out of hand I could see them becoming more active and myself even joining their organization.

What I would like to see is how accountable for their actions. If they are more accountable then Police Departments across the country seem to be I am willing to suggest disbanding PDs and start letting the ANgels do the work.:D

police sometimes have their hands cuffed

cops are not allowed to just beat up people they see drug dealing.
The GA did and you you know what??? the dealers left.
No cry baby lawyers, no court, the dealers I saw on the street were plain thugs with no regard for doing the time you get in NY for possesion and dealing small amounts of drugs, they delighted in harrassing and stomping on people.
The cops were powerless and couldn't do anything without the libby crowd yelling racist and brutality.
The only thing that really worked was illegal beat downs by the GA who knew how to fight, knew the drug thugs wouldn't prosecute.
When the drugs thugs showed up they got punched and kicked in the face
(it was so great witnessing the thugs get theirs) they got the hint and left:evil:

Years later I was being tormented by loud druggies outside my window in San Francisco and the cops wouldn't help...So I started saving up eggs till they became rotten-really vile rotten! I would warn them to leave and they would laugh and taunt...untill they got hosed with rotten eggs!

Legal?? probably not but the same cops to lazy to help the clean cut drug and alcohol free guy were even less enthusiastic to help the crackhead druggie with smelly egg on his face:D

They said "if you don't like eggs then get out of the neighborhood"

If the cops are to busy or to worried about being PC and not getting their liberal Chiefs and Mayors in an underwear twist then citizens have to step up to the plate with novel ideas to rid their street of druggie dirtbags.

My opinion is that any city large enough to warrant a "Martin Luther King" street is probably too far gone to inner city rot and socialist politics (both politically and amongst its denizens) for any hope. Maybe some smaller cities are an exception, but I doubt a parole would help much against crime.

I know it wouldn't here. Granted, it's a small city, but it's a growing one with a fairly substantial influx of the "3rd world" type right now, no small thanks to the Lutheran Mission. We have a lot of police officers in this town. Granted, they don't patrol every street at night, but they're hard to miss. I don't honestly know anything of their force projection abilities. I do know that my household is "taken care of" so to speak. An armed neighborhood watch probably would be a good thing - but who's going to want to venture out in some of the ****ty weather we've got around here?

And furthermore, it would likely still just be a few people scattered throughout the city who would be concerned. Admit it: in urban areas, the number of "armed, concerned citizens" is fairly negligible; the majority of gun owners couldn't give a damn unless it delayed the start of hunting season.
