Hey guys...I went to a firearms auction over the weekend with a couple of guns in mind. This one wasn't one of them, but the price seemed right so I took a flyer on it. It's a J.C. Higgins model 60 12 gauge semi automatic shotgun.

From what I have found, these were made by High Standard in the early to mid 50's. I believe this one would have been one of their top of the line models as it has the adjustable choke AND the built in compensator.

I believe this is the equivalent of the High Standard Supermatic Trophy model. I am hoping one of you gurus can confirm my findings, and if anyone has any information on this model or comments about this gun in particular, they are welcome!

The condition looks really good. Of course, I haven't fired (or even brought home - waiting period in IL!) the gun yet, but I'm looking forward to it. I didn't pay a lot for it, so worst case I could probably part the gun out and come out ahead.

Anyway, here's a photo of the gun - let me know what you think:

Thanks,

Warner
