In my excitement to get into BP shooting (revolvers for now), I have been trying to get everything I need to get started. Gun on order from Cabelas is 58 Rem New Army. Here's what I have so far:

Rem. #10 caps
Goex fffg
Hornady .454 round balls
.44-.45 felt wads
Powder measure 5-130 gr
Mec's Book
T/C bore butter
.58 Rem spare parts kit

Rags, cloths, tools, honing stones, basic gunsmithing tools I have already.

I realized I did not order any spare nipples or a nipple wrench. Is there anything else I need? And, can I get buy without the nipples and wrench for now until I see if there are other items I want to order?

You need a nipple wrench for sure. The little devils need cleaning well after your day at the range. I use .457 balls with my 58 Pietta. I don't use any over the ball lube, it is messy. A tight fitting ball and a good wad is much better I think.
Find something to clear the nipples of carbon between loads too, you will get a better ignition of the charge. I use a 1mm watchmakers screwdriver.

I also pull the barrel through with a piece of material soaked in care windscreen wash fluid between cylinders which means easier cleaning later.
Enjoy

You can get by without the spare nipples for now, I still have the originals in my 4 yr old 58 target version. (I do take them out and clean them often in case you wondered). A Nipple wrench is a good idea though as a soon to purchase item.

I also pull the barrel through with a piece of material soaked in care windscreen wash fluid between cylinders which means easier cleaning later.

A .45 cal boresnake soaked in windex does an awesome job for this also. Carry in a ziplock bag and toss in the washing machine when you get home, (get your wifes permission first and any old rags that need washing can go in with the snake. ;) )

Pipe cleaners and a little windex also work good to remove carbon between cylinders if you want to. I don't swab out the nipples between every cylinder, I've shot as many as 6 cylinders without having any problems with carbon build up on the nipples.

You can aquire a whole lot of extra stuff for the tricks you'll learn later, but for now you're good to go with what you have as soon as the gun arrives. Have fun shooting when it gets there! :D

I will join the club and tell you that you have to have a nipple wrench as well. They do get dirty when shooting, even in the threads that hold them in.
