If you're referring to the blued Smith & Wesson, it's a Model 19 (as the OP said he'd never give up...)

This is described as the "original" .357 Magnum revolver, favored by Bill Jordan and others.

In a 6" barrel, the specs I found say they weigh 39 oz.

As far as I know, the Model 19 was only available as a 6 round cylinder, but later models are available with 8 rd capacity.

Picture looks like a 6" barrel. S&W lists overall length for Model 627 (similar) as 11-5/8" - can't find specs for Model 19.

do you know of any similar .357 magnum revolvers with 6-8 round cylinders that are 14.5" in overall length and come in that blue finish?

the problem is when i look through the S&W website, all the models look pretty close. im just looking for one that is 14.5" in length, fires .357's, in blue, at least a 6.5" barrel, just as pretty as that model 19, and is a reliable gun.

The case colored hammer and trigger on that 19 are beautiful! They dont make them like they used to.

Also why the hang-up on overall-length?

I obsess over barrel length when I consider a new wheel gun!

Not by people who know that the original .357 Magnum came out in the 1930s on the N frame as previously used for .44 and .45 revolvers, and became the Model 27 when numbers were assigned.
The Model 19 on the K frame like a .38 with better heat treating, did not come along until the mid 1950s. There is not room to increase its cylinder capacity, it is stricty a sixshooter.

Please try to give good information.

well the fact that it is a .357 is good, and i can manage with a 6 shooter, but are there any variations in length?

well...the model 19 came in 2.5", 3", 4" and 6"...it is built on the K-frame and is no longer in production.

the next size up is the L-frame and comes in 6 and 7-shot variations

the next size after that is the N-frame and they have .357s in both 6-shot and 8-shot variations...there has even been a 10-shot custom version
