Most numerous?

The K-frame S&W. This encompasses several more or less identical models. As pointed out above, there are over six million M&P/Model 10's alone. When you add in the Model 64 (same gun in stainless), Model 13 (same gun in .357), and Model 65 (same as the 13, but stainless), you're really talking about a bazillion guns. Now add in the 15/19/66/67 (the same gun but with adjustable sights.) If you want, you can add in all the other K-frame chamberings (.22, .32-20, .32 S&W Long, .32 H&R Mag, 9x19mm), and remember that this same basic gun has been in constant production for one hundred and five years, with no end in sight, and I'd wager that you have more of this type lying around than any other two types of handgun combined.
