What has been the most accurate .22 rimfire ammo in your revolvers

Across the board Winchester Power Points work best in my rimfires. I like its full 40 grain copper washed & lubed hollow point bullet. It does actually expand. And it's fast (but not hyper) at 1280 fps. They're a lot harder to find than Winchester's bulk stuff, and you do pay a small premium, but to me it's worth it. I buy it by the case when I can find it.

The Winchester code number is X22LRPP for the 50 round box, and X22LRPP1 for the 100 count box.

The older boxes will be marked: "Long Rifle High Velocity", "Super-X", "Hollow Point", and "Power Point".

They also use to have a non-hollow point round nose version, but I think that one is no longer made.

What velocity you think they get with the revolver? 1280 from a Rifle, 900 from a pistol?

Good to know they will actually expand. The only .22's I get to expand with a handgun are the stingers, but they do not shoot as well as I would like.

That Dan Wesson above shoots awesome! That's my kind of .22 accuracy! I'm wicked jealous of that shooting. Guessing it was a lot of operator skill as well as the bullet choice.

+1. Some (but not all) match ammo may be a tad more accurate my guns, but CCI SV generally works well in all of them. Cheaper than match ammo to boot.

I have had the same experience as well. CCI SV is my go to ammo when I pickup a new 22 rifle or handgun.

before i sold my H&R 922 revolver the best ammo to shoot was Remington Subsonic, but i mostly shot Federal Value Pack and Remington Golden Bullet in it and it grouped was pretty decent.

Best group ever out of my S&W Mod 17-4 at 25 yds, and I do keep track, was with Federal Gold Medal 40g LRN. That includes trying with Wolf Match, RWS, and Fiocchi. Haven't tried Eley yet.

Usual fodder is Fed American Eagle 38g HP.

It doesn't really matter what ammo I shoot in my Model 17-4. It shoots about anything better than my ability to shoot it.

I'm sorting through lots of ammo in my .22 SP101

The Action is smoothed and the trigger pull is now very nice, actually excellent. I can get the CCI round nose to shoot pretty well, but then the flyer now and then. I figured it was me, but now I wonder.

The Stingers are not gonna work out for sub 1.5" groups at 25 yards. They just cannot stay together as much as I wish they would.

The Remington Bulk ammo is a shotgun blast with this gun! those bullets are 4" or worse!

I know all .22's are gonna like what they like. But hoping there may be a few folks with the same good results using the same ammo to cut to the chase a bit.

CCI Mini Mags or CCI Standard Velocity have been the best, overall. ;)

Aquila Match Rifle or Pistol in my S&W 22a, 7inch barrel.
Match Pistol is a hair better at 25 and 50 yds.

Indoor 50ft, not much difference. Tossup between the 2.

Still at the point where there isn't a good selection of rimfire ammo available anymore and when you find it, the stuff is overpriced.
Federal AutoMatch shoots horribly in my Walther PP, S&W 317 and 2214 Sportsman.

I have had good luck with the standard velocity stuff any brand really.
Federal standard velocity is really good if you can find any.

My Ruger Single Six Hunter groups very well with HP Mini Mags.
Mark III Hunter likes just about anything except for Remington Golden Bullets.
But my kids 10/22 prefers Golden Bullets.
