Folks, I have been carrying a J frame in a pager pal for years, but I think I'd like to try carrying the Nano in an IWB holster. Do you have any suggestions?

I carry a Nano in a Garrett Industries Silent Thunder IWB and it would be hard to imagine a better rig. It's extremely comfortable, totally adjustable for cant, very easy to draw from with good [adjustable!] retention. With a single belt clip of unique design it's rock solid and doesn't shift a bit. But you can get it with loops if you prefer.

With the flush fit six round mag I can easily conceal the Nano under just a T-shirt. We're talking deep concealment!

Great thing about the Garrett is that they combine a rigid kydex shell with a bonded leather lining. The hard shell keeps it from collapsing when you draw, making it really easy to re-holster the sidearm. The leather lining protects the finish of the gun and makes the draw silent- hence the name.

I have Garrett IWBs for three different guns and love all of them. You really can't go wrong with them. Turnaround time is only about 2 weeks on the IWB, too.

Phaedrus - what is the most robust clip option for the Silent Thunder series, while still being relatively easy to take the holster on/off? I am leery of the strength of the kydex clips, but am interested in the holster. TIA

That's hard to say, Goju. There are several options offered by Garrett and I have three of them. You can get a single kydex clip, leather loops or kydex loops.

The kydex single clip is curved in profile, allowing it to make more contact with the best than if it was flat. This makes it rock-solid on your belt. However, it can be broken. I once caught mine on a theater chair while taking my seat and neatly snapped the clip in half. It didn't move the holster and inch though, and I was able to wear it for another few hours til I got home. Ron replaced the clip for free and I haven't had any issues. I think it was a fluke but it can happen.

The tuckable loops are very sturdy, hard to imagine how you could break them. It's pretty easy on and off with the snaps. But I'm kind of a retard with the pull-the-dot snaps, and have a hard time making 'em work right.

The kydex loop is maybe the most solid possible mounting option, and I can't imagine what you could do to break one. But that one required running your belt through it. Not quick to don or doff.

I haven't tried the HD clip but it was designed to be heavy duty and difficult to break. If you're worried about it that's the route I'd probably go. That said, the one flukey broken clip aside I've been really happy with the standard clip to the point where I don't use the other hardware. My advice is to go with the standard and just order a 2nd one as a spare. Of course, it isn't a bad idea to get a couple different ones to try while you're ordering. They're all relatively inexpensive.

Any one of the mounts can be swapped out in just a minute or less. Garrett even includes an Allen wrench that fits the hardware with each holster.
