Ok so I have been thinking about the Buffalo Remmy. I see that I can buy a buffalo barrel from VTI for about $115. can the barrels be changed in order to make a steel frame 1858 buffalo? We don't rate down here but they can get them in Canada. I don't really want a SS version. and I don't want to pay $700 for the one on GB with the 2 sets of grips and the conversion cyl.

on another subject Pietta makes the C&B buntline in a brass frame, will the barrel fit a steel frame Pietta?

Yes, switching the barrel can be done but it's not necessarily an easy task to do at home without some risk. So there may be an extra expense involved to have a gunsmith do it. That also makes switching barrels back and forth more than once less appealing.

ASM used to make make a steel frame Buffalo model which can sometimes still be found on the used market place.
