What is it? I'm being offered a couplethreesixyear'old Sako Hunter in 7mm Mag, and I've not yet had a chance to look at it. Before I meet up with the guy and give it a once-over, can anyone give me a quick education on the lineage and good/bad/ugly of the rifle. The one pic that he sent me showed a very tasty lookin' rifle...

Thanks - I'd peeked there, but this appears to be an older model. I'm just not sure how much the Hunter has changed over the last ten years or so.

I could be wrong, but it seems to me that "Hunter" is a term coined by Beretta so it may not be that old.
My Sakos are all pre-Beretta and they are superb but I wouldn't hesitate to try a newer one if the price was right.
I have never heard any negative reports on Sako rifles old or new.

The Sako 75 Hunter was started in production pre-Beretta. I have one that I bought about a year before they bought them out and they are fantastic rifles! Mine is chambered in .300 rum, it is a large heavy rifle but it is still comfortable to shoot.
