I saw this picture and have not seen anything like it. Unable to come up with something in a search I thought I would ask, since somebody knows what it is.

Its ugly, but I'd use it.
Still a bit partial to the P-90 though, but thats not meant to be a front line weapon, where as the Kriss could definitely be used.
 
there was a future weapons episode about that gun, you can probably find it on helo (i think thats what it is) or probably even you tube.

basically the main design selling point is the bolt recoils back and down the weapon (indside that giant flat reciever part) which reduces felt recoil and make the weapon more manageable with large pistol calibers like .45
 
TDI's KRISS carbine.

The civi version is semi-auto and has a 16" barrel w/ perm attached fake silencer shroud.
The civi but SBR version looks like the above, its still semi auto but itll have the correct length threaded barrel. A neat suppressor host for a 45acp carbine if you didnt want to convert a HK USC into a UMP sbr. They range from $1600-$2100 depending on the setup. :)

I'm sorry, what? A .45acp is a front-line weapon, where a 5.7x28 isn't? :scrutiny:
 
The gun sucks in Call of Duty.... I'm kidding haha

The idea's behind it seem pretty cool, don't know if I'd buy one but I'd love to try one out for an afternoon

I didn't mean massive issue. Just that it has more knock down power than the 5.7, which is meant for armor piercing. As a submachine gun it just seems more suited for front line use than something designed to replace the m9 for non combat troops. Kind of like a modern day thompson..just not. In no way did I mean to replace assault rifles with smg's.

And my statement was not to put the Kriss on the front line. Just that it'd do better than the P-90 in all probability. The .45 acp did great in the m3 grease gun and thompson during WWII and I'd rather have a .45 in a recoil reducing package than any 9mm SMG. However, when things go full auto the size of the round may not be as important. Especially in high rates of fire.

Honestly, if I was a soldier clearing houses or any other urban combat setting a .45 smg is perfect. 5.7 not so much, especially in countries like Iraq where combatants are not wearing body armor.

looks too complicated, and i not so convinced if it was dropped in mud sand or anything it would function correctly. i like the old K.I.S.S rule
 
I saw it on future weapons, and it was awesome. The lack of recoil allowed for accurate follow up shots. I like this gun because in everyway it look like a machine gun!
 
That thing is so tactical that even handling a photo of it requires gloves!
It's an interesting concept but most LE/Mil agencies who could actually get one seem to be moving away from pistol calibers and to intermediate rounds.
 
I own a Kriss. Its actually very simple and robust. Tool free break-down in seconds, very simple design, and very few moving parts. Plus 30 rnds of .45 Love it!

p.s.-I know a lot of folks think it ugly but I thinks shes a beaut!

I sure wouldn't pay that much for it , and in my opinion , in carbine form , it looks downright hideous.

As an SMG it is pretty darn cool , but semi only....pass.
