What is your 30-06 load charge using IMR 4350

Depending on what I available I use IMR 4064 using 47.9 grains of powder Federal 210 primers and the 165 grains BTSP hornady. I don't go for velocity but for accuracy. I also use reloader 15, same bullet and 48.3 grains of powder same primers.

There were a couple of standard target loads for NRA across the course shooting, one with a bolt rifle was a 168 SMK with 55.0 grains IMR 4350. The other was 47.0 grains IMR 4895 with a 168, the IMR 4895 load was appropriate for the Garand gas system, and I used more of that load in my 30-06 match bolt rifle because the load kicked less. Velocities were equivalent but the 4895 was easier on me in rapid fire.

I would start at 55.0 grs with a 165 grain hunting bullet and work up, but not much more. You will probably blow primers around 57.0 grains, if you shoot enough of the stuff, with different brass, different primer lots, and if the day is a little warm.

My go to deer rifle is a Blaser .30-06. Also have a Remington 700 in ‘06. I’m shooting 168 gr Barnes TTSX out of both and have had excellent luck with IMR 4350 just over 56 gr out of both rifles. The main difference in the loads is the oal. (Get an oal gauge and measure from ogive...or at least that helped me a ton). Nosler brass. Getting clover leaf groups at 100.

As always, start low and work your way up!

Loaded up 4 shells the other day with IMR 4350 , Remington primer and brass under a 165 grain Hornady SST boat tail bullet. Went to the range today to see how they shot looking for excessive chamber pressure. No signs of pressure issues with these 4 loads...
55.6 grains
55.8 grains
56.0 grains
56.2 grains
I think I will load a few more at 56.3 grains and call it good. This should put the velocity around 2,775 fps. Don't think you could get much more powder in there before it would start compressing the charge with this SST bullet. It sets a little deeper in the cartridge when centered in it's cannelure compared to the Hornady SP-BT bullet. The 4 I shot today grouped very well , within a 1/8 inch of each other at 25 yards.
