I would look at a Nikon, a Pentax, or a Bushnell 3200, Also a Tasco varmint series. I have three of the Tasco's. Lastly and maybe best, if you have any gunshows in your area, go there, and look for old Japanese made Tasco hi power glass; it will say on the metal, made in Japan, it will be hi gloss on the tube, and it will have on it, proly a little paper stamp on it that says 'Japanese govt. approved' , or something like that. Old japanese glass is outstanding. One of these that I have , has a range finder built into the eyebell piece, to site in the size of targets such as specific animals, and then tells you how far away they are. Another one that i got, has 5 replacement discs, for elevation, a 22lr disc, a 223 type disc, a 308 type disc, a 338 type disc, and a wetherby mag type disc. that way, you can have one scope , and it will hold multiple zero's, just by replacing the elevation disc. and once you zero one of your cartridges at the 100 yds mark on the disc, it shows you exactly where to turn to get to 200 300 400 and 500 yds, on each of those discs. I got this one, in the box, never mounted, for 100 bucks!!!! schwing.
