What the heck, Sig Sauer?? Brass.

Got a guy on the phone in the nick of time!

He said that when I purchased the brass, it was being supplied by a subcontractor. He did not say who. He indicated there were some quality concerns back then and my issue was not unheard of. He said Sig Sauer now manufacturers all of their own brass in Arkansas and quality has improved.

So, that's it. He said he could look into it further, but being that they don't use that subcontractor anymore, and it was three years ago, he didn't think he could find any more info. I told him not to worry about it.
That is disappointing.
If he had been with the company long enough to remember & know there was a problem like this in the past, then he should know how they dealt with it in the past and offered that up. JMO

I didn't waste my time contacting them over a product that was purchased from American Reloading. They split almost exactly like this. Picture is of SIG 9mm brass that I found on Reddit.

Yes, new. Purchased from American Reloading. Many other people have experienced the same problem with this brass over on ARFCOM.

I have a bunch of that I bought from American Reloading. I paid full price for it and then a few weeks later they marked it down and disclosed the splitting issue. I was pretty peeved about it.

In the discussions I was a part of people basically came to the conclusion that it went to American Reloading for a reason and that it was our own fault for expecting new quality.

I expect blemishes and dings when I buy pulled brass. I don’t expect to get brass that is literally unsafe to shoot lol. It should have all been scrapped.
