I cannot figure out what kind of personal defense load to use out of my 9mm carbine. All the choices listed below are accurate AND reliable in my gun. Help me choose!!!!!!!

1. Winchester 115 gr. FMJ's

2. Federal 135 gr. Hydra-Shoks

3. Federal 124 gr +p+ Hydra-Shoks

4. Winchester 115 gr. HP's

5. Winchester 147 gr. HP's

6. Corbon 90 gr. HP's

7. Corbon 115 gr HP's

8. Corbon 124 gr.HP's

9. Gold Dot 115 gr.

10. Gold Dot 124 gr.

11. Magsafe 60 gr.

There are more that I have considered that I havent tested.........yet :D

(Now you see why I need help.... )

P.S Has anyone got the Winchester white box hollow points to expand??? I am having trouble getting the 115 gr and the 147 gr to expand at all. Pics of these and any other expanded bullets would be appriciated also.

You've got so many options there....

Lessee if I can cut down the number of options.

Heavier bullets (124gr-147gr) will be moving much faster from a carbine than a 4-5" pistol, so are likely to expand as designed. So I'd throw out the 115gr loads and lighter.

Now you're down to 5 loads. None of them are magic, so you're only playing with the last 10% of effectiveness. Apparently you have shot all of them so....

If $$ is a concern, buy the cheapest. If that last 10% means a lot to you, buy the hottest.

Or if you want to trust someone else's judgement, try the 147gr. I'd go for that from a carbine, just cuz I like heavier bulletc.

I really do like the 147 gr. bullets but they WILL NOT open up.:barf: :scrutiny: I dont understand why.

POST PICS OF EXPANDED BULLETS !!!!!!!(9mm) :D

I'd go with something in the mid-range. Weight and velocity. Fast enough coming out, good (not best, mind you) energy retention downrange. Everything is a compromise.
