What to get for Christmas?

Which gun for the top of the Christmas list?

  • Marlin 336W (because every house needs a decent lever rifle)

The big question is, what don't you have now?

Unfortunately I won't be able to finish up my big project for my wife for Hannukah, a Heavy Barrel FAL. The receiver's not in yet, oh well. I did warn her that she might be getting a box of parts...

I was leaning toward the lever gun, until I realized that I already have a pump 12 ga. at the house.

So it's the Mossberg.

i got a shotgun last year for christmas and an ak the year before that, with the shotgun though i got 250rds of "00" buckshot to go with it! i am still shooting that stuff! now i love the ak, but i knew it was comming the shotgun on the other hand was the best christam present ever and a total suprise!

Personally, the Mossberg is on my list, and I was going to get it for Xmas. However, in light of the Dems sweep of congress, I may opt for a rifle first, instead, since pump shotguns seem less likely to be banned in the future. So now I'm looking at a WASR-10 locally. We'll see what happens.... I got approval from the boss/wife once I save up the funds. :D

That said, it seems like the most likely thing on your list to be banned in the future would be the Kel-Tec P11. I don't know how high on the list lever-action rifles are for the antis. I guess it's not black, and it doesn't have a magazine, so you're probably OK with the first two for a while. I guess it depends what you own already.

Just my $.02. I think the Mossberg will be safe for a while b/c it would get the hunters PO'd if they tried to ban that.

P.S. I second the "All of the Above" option!

I bought myself an AR-15 for Chanukah, very early, and I just bought myself a flattop upper and an eoteh for Chanukah as well. As well as the tools to move the barrel over...

I just have 5 more days to cover. I think i'm getting some Ammo from Chanukah Claus (the wife) as well as some other non-other gun stuff...

Back on YOUR topic, out of your 3 choices, get the mossberg, put a rail on it, and put a cheap red-dot on it.

Texas9, you only get a vote if you pitch into the pot, little bro!

Springmom, I didn't get the "all of the above" option from my missus, so I didn't enable the multiple-selection option. ;) These aren't necessarily what I would buy given an unlimited budget, either, but they're what I would buy given the likely gift budget she'll be working with.

And finally, MDig, I'd love to always have my Springfield .45 riding along, but I was thinking along the lines of something I could drop into a jacket pocket while pumping gas, etc. Having recently traded off my snubby .38, I was kinda looking for something to fill that niche.

Keep 'em coming! :D

Get the Mossberg. With a shotgun, you've got a sort of selective-fire weapon that fires in burst mode (birdshot, buckshot) or single shots (slugs). It's as close as you can get to full-auto without Agent Schmuckatelli checking you out. And for practical purposes, a shotgun can take down most if not all game in the fifty states.
