What to get for our first .22 rifle

The marlin bolt action .22s are very high quality and quite accurate.

The T-900 trigger system sucks, from what I hear, but it can be replaced, IIRC.

ruger 10/22 or a marlin autoloader with a tube mag.

I quickly tired of my 10/22, and I have enjoyed bolt actions a whole lot more. Plus, they are a easier to clean and not as sensitive to ammo issues.

I also like the CZ .22 rifles. Very high quality, and the CZ 452 Lux has great iron sights.

You mention light weight and accuracy as important criteria, so I heartily recommend CZ 452 Style or Silhouette (same rifle just Nickel or blue metal).

These models are lighter than heavy barrel models and / or wood-stocked models. Same amazing accuracy and of course the simplicity you get from a bolt gun! :)
