Hey guys,
Well I've sold some stuff from my other hobby (pipe) and I have some "fun" money to spend. Now, I already have two 1911's (a new Colt 70 series and a Springfield "Loaded" blued) and a couple Garands. I have about $500. What would you get and why? Help me here.....

How can you sell pipes? I think selling guns is easier than selling pipes. I guess since you put them in your mouth you just get more intimate with a pipe. Seriously, I have some nice pipes myself and I hope you didn't part with anything you'll regret (with a few exceptions I'd really miss most of my pipes- almost all of them have their own unique story and history for me). So did you sell any nice Calabash or Freehand pipes? Do you have any Calabash now that you might be willing to part with:evil: ? When I first started I had no desire for one of those "ugly" Calabash pipes. Back then there were plenty around. Now, I'd love one of those beautiful Calabash pipes but I can't find them anymore.

If you already have a couple 1911s and a couple Garands I'd consider the Carbine or "other", unless you also have a bunch of other stuff you didn't mention. If I went with "other" I'd suggest considering a BHP, a CZ, a nice wheelgun or two, or maybe a nice bolt rifle or two.

Hey man,
No, I didn't sell anything that was cherished to me, just stuff I don't smoke anymore. I was never much of a freehand kinda guy. I'm mostly into mid-high end English and Italian pipes.

Now let's see....

I don't know much about the M1 Carbine (other than that I should avoid the commercial Universals and IAI's)

Already got a HP, Bulgie mak, S&W 625, S&W 65LS, S&W 66 3", GP100, Ruger MkII Slabside.

CZ452, H&R M12, FAL, GA Precision .308, Enfields, Mosins......

What's missing?

OK, with that expansion and clarification...Hmm...CZ 75B, CZ 75SA, CZ 85 Combat, smaller concealable handgun (you never know, MD may someday come around), another 1911 or a Garand. Wait, you already have some Garands, what do you think of the M1As? Yeah, I know it is quite a bit more than $500, but the $500 would make a nice foundation to start saving from. Anyway, it seems to me that you don't have a bad choice on your list.

Rather than buying another gun, how about spending that money on some professional training to augment what you already know. Tac Rifle, Tac Pistol, Precision Rifle - all are great choices to refresh the old skills and possible learn some new ones.

Think about it. Everyone can get better.
