The length of pull of a rifle is "generally" the measurement of the distance from the front of the trigger to the back end of the buttplate.
There's always room to debate the definition which other people have done in the following thread if anyone wants to read it:

http://www.reloadersnest.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=2581

There are several factors that do affect a person's favorite length of pull besides the length of their forearm and trigger finger, such as the clothing being worn, their physical build etc...

One way to help determine a person's length of pull is to measure their forearm. But people still have individual tastes when it comes to their favorite length of pull.

So after all is said and done, even if you based your answer on the length of pull of your favorite rifle, what is your favorite length of pull?

I like a 14.25" pull in both my rifles & shotguns, it gives me the best of both worlds in manuverability but control, especially for my Skeet gun.

In general

14" fits me well, clothes or no clothes, shootin nekked , I like a longer pull on my guns . :D
Black guns , well I like them much less length . :what:

Don't really have one...

Depends on how well a given weapon is balanced, and how heavy it is. What's more important to me is... when I bring the gun up to my cheek... do the sights naturally want to line up for me?

I'm built kinda like a fire plug, with short stubby arms.About 12 1/2'' is ideal, but you really have to have a collapsible stock to get it.

Hey

you may have wanted to post this Poll in Metrics too , we got allot of folks across the Pond , and the rest of the WORLD besides us uses Metrics . Inches are too confusing to convert over to Metrics for most , so I am wondering if the tally of poll stats is going slow because of that ?
