As of 1pm 8/21/20 Hammond Cabela's had a OK amount and verity of rifle and HG powders in stock but only 209 primers. Just my luck went there 2-3x a week for 3 weeks no IMR 4831 or IMR 3031 so I ordered a bunch of each online paid reasonable S&H and H/Mat fees that upped the cost per LB $2 and then today they had both.

Jeeze. You'd think after all these elections that manufacturers would catch on. Increase production the year prior if not 2 years prior to an election. I guess in this case having to deal with covid limited their staff causing further disruptions. 08 was bad, this is worse. I sold off all my large pistol primer using firearms. Regretting that. I can buy 20 bricks of large pistol and large rifle locally. Powder is also widely available. The most annoying part of it is that the range is dead quite. Buying everything up and not using any of it. I can respect keeping a stash on hand but this is bonkers. I hope and pray all of us are talking to the people we know, encouraging them to get out and vote. Joe can not win or we will see this go on for 4 years. Guess I gotta go buy another 45 so I'll have a need to buy and use large pistol primers. Can someone remind me of the app or website that gives you a heads up when primers are in stock? Thank you

I think that https://ammoseek.com/ is what most of the kids are using these days to check and see when primers are in stock. But, it seems like you really have to jump on them when they become available, otherwise they will sell out on you.

As of about 3pm, a place called "The Boom Store" in central Ohio had a few bricks of Remington 6 1/2 SRP (like 3) and several bricks of 9 1/2's. $43 a brick.
A few Hodgdon powders and a couple VV powders, but I didn't look closely at them.
They have an Orient Ohio address, south of Columbus. About 1/4 mile from I-71 off U.S.62.
First time I'd been in there. Seem like nice people.

They did. 4 years ago rifle and ammo manufacturers ramped up production in anticipation of someone else winning the election. When it went the other way people stopped panic buying and there was too much inventory. Many went under as a result of the cash flow crunch.

Thanks. I check about 30, but did notice something today. Ammoseek searches Powder valley (One which I manually check), but there must be a big lag because these primers sold out before they were on Ammoseek. It had to be at least 15 min.. That site was getting pounded though today, it's speed was tanked for a couple hours.

Cabela's / Bass Pro Shops is now showing online purchase availability for several powders that recently were completely out of stock including Hodgdon Varget, H4350, HP38, & H110.

Federal Large Pistol Magnum Match primers continue to show as available for online purchase as well.
