I've been looking on the FBMG web site for VEPRs but they seem to be out of stock there and just about everywhere else?

Is there some supply problem out there?

Also I was a wit peeved that there's no E-mail address on the FBMG web site (if the owner is listening). There's a "contact us" link but it only links back to the main page.

I'm one of the owners. Thanks for the heads up on the e-mail issue. We just put the new page up with the shopping cart and we're still getting the bugs worked out. The e-mail is [email protected]

Here is the deal with the Veprs. Robarms is the importer. They have been out for a while. I can't get a straight answer to when there is going to be any more from Russia. Nobody seems to know. Send us an e-mail at that address above and we'll get you added to the list for people who want Veprs. We'll be stocking them as soon as Robarms has more to sell.

If you want a high quality Russian AK in the meantime, I have Tromix converted Saigas in stock. They are excellent guns. Priced about the same as the Veprs were before they dried up, but with ACE side folding stocks. The Veprs will be a little more accurate, but 2 pounds heavier. Quality is a wash between the two.

I've seen internet scuttlebutt that says the Molot plant where the VEPRs are produced has been bought up by Izhmash (the makers of the Saiga line)...I have, as of yet, been unable to confirm this rumor and how it may/may not impact the importation of VEPRs through Robinson.

It is a shame they are so hard to get, as they are fantastic firearms. I spent a few months getting ready to snap one up, squirreling away money and such...convinced my brother to buy one along the way...he got his...supply started to dry up...and I didn't get mine. :(

Lysander, here is the deal with the Russians. Apparently Molot producing the Veprs was considered a violation of Russian patent law. Izmash sued Molot, and won. The settlement was huge, so huge that Molot couldn't pay for it, so now Izmash actually owns Molot.

What is going to happen on the future US importation side for the Molot guns, I can't say. I have some intel on that, as I currently work with both the US importers for Izmash and Molot, but I don't know what is going to happen. Sorry.

The RA web site currently says.

Russia has told us that the next batch of 7.62x39mm rifles will ship from Molot at the end of June. If you want one, order it now as supplies are limited.

Do you know if you will be getting any of these Correia? I suppose backorders might eat up every one of these units.

Unknown. I don't know what he's going to get, or how many there are going to be, and most importantly, what he is going to charge. I've got a list of people who want Veprs, but if Alex jacks the price up too much, then that list is going to evaporate mighty quick.
