Anyone know where a shooter can pick up bulk range brass? I am in need of quite a bit in 9mm. I could probably use more in 45 and 38 as well. I am good on 40 brass for a while I believe! All my sources are dry.

I have some new pistols to feed and don't have nearly enough brass to even start a good loading session.

Try a wanted ad on craigslist and armslist. Next I would try auction sites like gunbroker. I find that I can buy locally for much cheaper than anywhere else if I am patient. And gunbroker indoor range brass is typically cheaper IMO than what people are selling it for on THR.

I'm guessing that with a lot of the gun shops getting components and supplies back in stock, he's taking a much needed break. I travel for work and stop in many gun shops in the north east and most have a lot of stuff back in stock, though not everything or an abundance. I see dies, powder and a lot more bullets. I do not see CCI .22 ammo or any .22LR for that matter. Primers are hit and miss but they are starting to be available locally without paying $25 for a hazmat shipping fee. I think another couple of months will help get it back to normal. Prices do seem to be about 20% higher, though, and I don't know if they will drop with supply or if this is the new permanent pricing. I also see a good supply of factory ammo as well.

Wish I could be more help as I've seen some lots go for just over $300. I know I've seen a lot of brass in the Chicago navel training and Ft Dix NJ and one base in the state of Texas. If someone did take the time or had the time they could make a lot of shooters happy and at the same time make a couple of bucks.

Traveled back from Texas this week. Along the I-10 path, Bass Pro in Baton Rouge LA and Spanish Fort Alabama both had CCI Small pistol primers. Clerk in Spanish Fort said he had hundreds of boxes. I asked for 10, and walked out with 10k of primers. Baton Rouge sold me 3k also. No details on there inventory. Powder selections were almost none. Both sites only had a few cans of Rifle powder. Hazmat vs Tax... it all works out in the long run.

Looking at Midway and others when shopping for brass and bullets, I keep seeing both listed as regular 9mm and then some brass and bullets will be labeled +P.....( in 9mm)

I know what +p rounds are, but want to know what the difference is between a standard 9mm bullet or brass and the +p version? Thicker plating on the bullets and thicker brass on the cases? does this affect powder load capacity? Or is it just semantics?

Potatohead, While those mentioned are jacketed, I find better performance and accuracy with 124 gr bullets. Both RMR and Extreme have 124 gr for great prices, often with free shipping. They are Plated, not jacketed, but its thick and I have had no problems with them. HP or RN. (9mm)
