Hi all! I've never posted here before, but I've seen other people get help here, and it seems like a pretty promising place.

I recently came in possession of a Ruger Mini-14 (182 series, non-ranch), but the rear sight had been replaced by a scope mount. I intend to install my own scope mount on the bolt hold-open cover plate, so that I can still use the iron sights. My problem is that I can't find a full rear sight assembly for the non-ranch model anywhere. I've scoured the internet nonstop for almost a month, and all I can find are the individual pieces, and not even all of the pieces I would need if I wanted to build it myself, which I really don't unless I have to. Does anyone know where I can find this? I'd prefer stainless, but if blued is all there is, so be it. Factory original or third party would work at this point.

TL;DR: I need a full rear sight assembly for a 182 series Ruger Mini-14, non-ranch. Where are they hiding?

Also, while I'm here, I'd like some opinions: There are two scope mounts I've been looking at, and one is half the price. I know when it comes to guns, you really don't want to get the cheapest parts and pieces you can find, but is the more expensive one really worth it, or will the cheaper one work?

Thank you so much in advance! If there's anything else I need to know, please feel free to tell me!

EDIT: Thank you all so much for your help! With your suggestions, I found exactly what I need, and I have it on order. Hope everyone has an awesome day!

I don't know if Lee's Gun Parts (972-790-0773) is still in operation. He's a one man shop that deals in used parts, only open 3 days a week. If the phone rings be prepared to wait, if he's out in the shop pulling parts. If busy keep trying.

I'd prefer stainless, but if blued is all there is, so be it.

The sight base, sight blade, and elevation screw were blued, even on stainelss guns. The rest of the parts were mostly stainless including the front sight which should have been blued or blackened.
Numrich, aka Gun Parts Corp. Link to site - Ruger Mini-14 Parts | Gun Parts Corp. Go to the pull down menu on the side. Part numbers 34 through 45 are what you need.
I made my own sight blade to replace the factory piece, which was too loose to suit me. Used thicker stock to duplicate the blade, eliminating some of the slop inherent in the factory piece.

Thanks for the info!

I've found Ruger's customer service to be very easy to deal with.
Have even had them pull a out of stock part from the manufacturing section to send to me.

As a new mini owner, you should also know about accuracy systems. Heres a link to their sights page. They also sell the tech sights.

Another thing about that series is the small diameter barrel. Look into a thing called an Accu strut. My Mini would scatter shots over 12 inches at 50 yards. I made an Accu strut and installed it. Results were a dime sized group at 50 yards. Look up " barrel whip" on YouTube, it will really amaze you.

I bought the one from Accuracy Systems that is incorporated into an adjustable gas block. My mini is a 187 series Ranch. I have yet to shoot it with the strut installed so i cant comment on function, but it looks great! I also chopped my barrel down to 16 inches which should help.

If you are still contemplating the scope mount, my recommendation is to avoid the cheaper one. The single attachment screw design is not good with long or heavy optics. They tend to shift under recoil which does not help with accuracy perception for minis. Look for mounts with at least 2 screws attaching to the side plate. Armson is good if you can find one in stock.
