I can find all kinds of good prices on Win AA 12 ga #8 and #7 1/2 trap loads at my local BiMart, but the club where I shoot skeet only lets you use #9's (for good reason). I can reload #9's, but would rather buy in bulk if there are some good prices out there. Any help?

AFAIK none of the big 3 makes bulk ammo with 9 shot.

Fiocchi and Rio do, though you may not be able to find them appreciably cheaper than STS at Wally World.

that's not true, winchester makes AA's in #9 shot.....or at least they used to. I have some 20 gauge AA's with 9 shot...but they are old, not sure if they are still made

AA's are not "bulk ammo" as the term is generally used around here. I misunderstood.

I found out that I'm wrong, though. Remington does make Gun Club loads in #9. Federal does too, both branded Federal and Estate.

Prices are from $4.40 a box for Estates to $4.50 for Gun Clubs here:

Of course you can buy AA, STS, Gold Medal, etc., but I wouldn't pay extra for that stuff to shoot practice rounds of skeet. If anything, STS shot is too round, hard and consistent (at least the bagged STS shot, I assume that's what's in STS shells, but ass-u-me of course). That's great for handicap trap, but for skeet? No need to pay for that IMO.

That's cheaper than I can reload them considering todays lead shot prices even with shipping!

Yeah, that's what I was thinking when I found the page.

I'm not sure whether to :) or :( about that...

I might keep reloading my trap league loads with really good components, but unless I'm loading top-top-quality shells for when someone is actually keeping score, it's probably not even worth having all the junk around the house any more.

...and for two rounds a week, I can just buy STS's at Wally World for $6 a box and avoid the hassle for a buck a box more than doing it myself... That's less than minimum wage, anyway.
