i just bought a swede mauser and a m1 carbine. unfortunately nobody locally sells surplus ammo. the 30 carbine is especially high. just wanted to get suggestions on who may have the cheapest ammo....preferably military surplus

Check out aimsurplus.com.

I think they have both of those calibers in stock.
Not surplus, but new manuf.

6.5 mm ammo

I gave up and bought dies. I cast my own .30 carbine bullets and I can get 6.5mm 140 grainers fro a nickel sometimes, a dime elsewhere

Century offers their housbrand version of of WOLF GOLD at about 8.95 a box

I got mine on sale for $6.95 Very good high quality reloadable brass ammo made by Privi Partuizan (WOLF) in Serbia

Georgia-arms sells their manufactures ammunition called canned heat for $190 for 1000 rounds of .30 cal carbine in a sealed GI ammo can to boot. Dial them up on the Internet and fill out one of their forms and send it in.

Midway deals

YES! I got some nice bulk pack W/W 168 gr Boat tails from them for about half price, around a nickel iirc, bought a MESS of them

Got my 140 gr 6.5 mm fmj there too.

However at the gunshow, I also got some 6.5 mm fmj "pulls" for a nickel
