I am looking to purchase Speer GDHP by the case of 500 or 1000 rounds. Does anyone know of an online retailer who will sell them this way. Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Just look around; even midwayusa.com sells it in lots of 500 though I'm not sure if it's actually bulk packaged or not at that quantity.
I bought some 9mm speer GDHP (+P) from ammoman. It came loosely packed in boxes of 250, bought 1000 rounds. I think they might have their .40S&W still on sale (not sure). I think they throw in free shipping if you order more than $xx dollars (website below).

Are you looking for Speer ammo or something with the Gold Dot bullet?
Black Hills ammo is quality ammo and has the Gold Dot JHP bullet in most of their ammo. You can buy in bulk as well.

www.georgiaarms.com is where I get all of my Gold Dots. They make some good fodder, and offer it at a reasonable price ($15/50 at the shows) Case lots are available.
www.sportsmansguide.com had some bulk GDHP for sale pretty recently. Don't know if they still do.

I found 250-round bulk boxes of 147 gr 9mm GDHPs at Gander Mountain this past Christmas - I think it was just under $40/box. Not sure if that's a regular-stock item or not. Haven't seen the same deal in any other loadings.

From what I understand, the 250 rd. boxes of Gold Dots are not a stock item.
The story I heard is that they were originally for a large order, perhaps a LE or Government order, but somehow the wrong primers were used. Now, since they had the wrong primers, the rounds were no longer to the specs of the original contract, and had to be disposed of.
Of course, the ammo is still perfectly good, it just happens to have the wrong brand primer in it. Keep in mind, this is just rumor, and I may be wrong.
I have seen it in quite a few different loadings, too. I currently have some 124 gr. and 124 gr. +P saved up for myself. I use the +P for carry ammo.
