Hi everybody,
I need a hand. I bought a used custom benchrest rifle in 22-250 and have been trying out several loading recipes with 50-55gr. range bullets.
Yesterday, I decided to check out the barrel twist rate and was surprised to find it's got 1:16".
Then, I calculated the ideal bullet size according to this twist rate and speed and I would need a shorter bullet for this twist rate.
Does anybody have any Hornady Vmax 40 gr. bullet at home ? I am trying to find its length on Hornady's website but they don't list it.
Thank you,
danyboy

No problem spent a lot of time on that site to make sure I can spin the bullet before I buy it. Also there its a stability calculator on that site

With a 1 in 16 twist and chambered for .22-250, it's a varmint rig, not a Benchrest rifle, but I am sure it will shoot great.

Out of curiosity, what would be the primary advantage for having a 1:16 twist .223?
