Ok, I now have a 1918 1911 Colt. Beautify gun and exactly what I wanted to remember Gramps with. One problem. Only one mag with it.

Where would I chase up some additional period correct magazines? Any one have any suggestions?

I hot to put in an order from some modern mags just to shoot it.

Thanks

correct me if I am wrong. The original mags for that gun were a 2 tone finish with a lanyard loop. I do not believe colt followed that little piece of originality in their repro gun to start with.

$195 for a magazine? Wow!

Ok, maybe I will live with non period correct mags.

I will hit the next collector gun show and see what I find but for $195 a mag, I can deal with my PII mags that have the bumper on the bottom. Those are more expensive than SIG 210 mags.

I'd get the new Colt mags that were made for the 01918 WWI Repro. They do NOT have a lanyard loop, but you can get some from another source that does. I forget where though.

If only we had known.

Back in the 60's we used to grind those lanyard loops off of the old 1911 surplus mags.
Cause they hurt when doing Jeff Cooper inspired slam-bang reloads!

I'd be rich now if I still had all of them in unmolested condition.
