I'm fairly happy with Palmetto State Armory (PSA) so far. Their components seem quality and they can be built on the cheap. I ordered a PSA lower and upper (both MOE edition) that came up to a little over $800.

It would have been cheaper, but I had to opt for the hammer-forged FN manufactured "machine gun" metal barrel with "double thickness chrome lining" because everything else was out of stock.

I'm not worried about the 1:7 barrel as other folks with them that I've spoken to are getting plenty of accuracy from XM193 from this twist rate (what I've stocked up on) and I do plan on focusing on the 75gr and 77gr OTM flavors as they are much better at fragmenting than XM193 or M855.

If you're willing to spend $1000+ as you apparently are, why not look at a Daniel Defense XV, LMT Basic, or BCM? They are made to higher quality standards for a similar pricetag. You may be able to find a LE model Colt in that price range if you poke around. If you want to spend a little less, S&W is fairly close to the above.

Spikes!!

I like the mid-length gas system and ruled out makers who didn't offer that. Mine has the Enhanced lower parts kit with the Battle Trigger, Nickel Boron bolt, and cold hammer forged FN barrel, couldn't be happier with it!! I'd put it up against anything.

Far as wait time, I was told 4-6 weeks when I ordered it directly from Spikes, but it shipped out only 10 business days later...so you never know!!
