Which Armi Sport

I like military guns, so I want to get either a repro Zuave, 3 band enfield or Springfield. Which one is more accurate? I doubt i ever reenact, just shoot for fun and maybe a local competition. Armi Sport seems to be the cheaper of the makes as they are all 500 or less at Cabelas. Any help would be appreciated. thanks.

I cannot attest to the accuracy of one of these repros over another or one brand of repro over another. However, it has been consistently demonstrated during the war that the almost all rifle muskets were equally accurate out to 500 yards. Beyond 500 yards the British P-53 Enfield was superior and in the hands of a skilled marksman has been known to hit men as far as 1,000 yards away. It is little reason why the Enfield was the preferred arm of the Confederate sharpshooter. BTW, I have the older English made repro Parker-Hale Enfield and they are great shooting at 350 yards (never shot beyond that distance). I cast my minies with their bullet mold (made by RCBS for them) and use SPG lube.

How do you lube the mini in your parker hale? I mean, do you use a lubrisizer, or just smear it on with your fingers?

#2, John. Ahh smears it wit mah finggahs. None in the base though, just the grooves. Yep, I'm neolithic and trying to catch up with the iron age.

Inside outside luber

I use an “inside outside luber†from North East Trade Co. They are a metal container filled with MCM lube and it has a mechanism inside to lube the mini both on the outside rings and the inside base. You heat it up with the lube in it and place the mini on a platform inside the container. The platform has a hole in it and is spring loaded. When you push down on the mini it will squirt some lube into the base of the mini and also allows the outside rings to get lube on them. I have used this device for several years and it has helped me to win a lot of gold medals.

One more thing: I searched the web, and couldn't find anything about the "inside outside luber". I did find a Northeast Trading Company website (in Attleboro, MA) but no listing of the luber.

Do you have any hints?
